Engineering Honor Council

A student-driven process dedicated to upholding the highest standards for the students of the University of Michigan’s College of Engineering.

What is our mission?

We hope to foster a culture of academic integrity and to uphold the values of ethical engineering. We believe in approaching instances of academic misconduct not merely as infractions to be punished, but as opportunities for growth and learning. By engaging with students in a constructive manner, we aim to instill a deeper understanding of academic honesty and ethical conduct within our engineering community. Through this process, we aspire to cultivate a new generation of engineers who not only excel in their technical abilities but also demonstrate unwavering integrity in their professional pursuits. Our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity not only serves to uphold the reputation and prestige of the University of Michigan but also ensures that our graduates enter the workforce as ethical leaders and responsible global citizens.

We have a devoted set of students and staff seeking to perfect our process by attending weekly meetings and international conferences where we learn about academic integrity, honor, and other schools’ honor council processes.
